The Insight: Projects page lists both the projects that are a match with your CRM search and the projects that you have imported into your Salesforce account. You can use the features on the Insight: Projects page to filter and sort the project list, search for specific terms in projects and view the project listing in Salesforce.

    How to use the Insight: Projects page

    The InsightProjects page lists the Insight projects that are imported into your account based on your CRM search in Insight. You can use the features on the page to review the projects for potential opportunities, leads and other options. 

    To use the Insight: Projects page,

    • use the features on the page to sort, filter, and search the list of projects. You can also view the details pages for the projects in Insight. Use the topics in this section for more information about performing these tasks. 

    • To view the details of a project in Salesforce, click on thName value in the column list to open the related details page. From there you can review and select the project for an opportunity, lead or other option. For more information, see the Help topic next to each feature on the related page.

    Applying View filters

    You can apply a global filter to all of the projects in your account by using the View feature at the top of the page. 

    To apply a View filter, 

    • in the View menu, select the option to use. 
      Result: The menu refreshes and the projects displayed match your selected option. 

    The following page describes the options you can use in the View menu.

    Projects Owned by MeProjects that are assigned to your Salesforce account.
    Recently Updated ProjectsProjects updated within the last 24 hours.

    Project Bid Dates within Next 7 Days

    Projects scheduled to go to bid within the corresponding date range.
    Project Bid Dates within Next 14 Days
    Project Bid Dates within Next 21 Days
    Project Bid Dates within Next 30 Days
    Project with Recently Updated Plans/SpecsProjects where the attached plans and specs with updates within the last 24 hours.
    Recently Imported ProjectsProjects imported into your Salesforce account within the last 24 hours.
    Projects Flagged for Export by MeProjects in Insight that you have manually flagged for export.

    Selecting and ordering the columns

    You can select up to 10 columns to be displayed in the window. You can also select the left to right column order along the page.  

    Note: For a description of the column values, see Understanding project column values.  

    To open the column selection menu

      • click My Columns in the upper right section of the page.

    To select the columns to display

      • in the menu, select values in the Available Fields menu and then click the arrow for Add to move them to the Selected Fields menu. 

    To order the columns along the page

      • select the value in the Selected Fields menu and then click the arrow for either Up or Down

    Searching the projects in the list

    The search feature at the top of the page lets you locate words that are used in the project listings on the page. 

    Note: You can only perform a simple search. Advanced and Boolean searching is not currently supported. 

    To search listings, 

    • enter the search terms in the search bar at the top of the page and then click the spy glass icon.

    Result: The menu refreshes with the listings that match your search terms. 

    Note: Click the Insight: Search tab at the top of the window to reset the page.

    Using the Filters menu

    You can apply filters to the projects in the list to get the exact results that you want.  

    To use the Filters menu, 

    • select the filtering option from the list and then click Apply

    Result: The list refreshes with the revised results. Click Clear Filters to reset the menu. 

    Notes:

    • To see all filters for an option, click the arrow >  to expand the option menu.
    • You can still apply filtering options even when the column for the selected option is not currently displayed in the window.  

    The following table describes all of the options that you can use to filter your projects list. Note that you can only set ten columns to show at one time.

    Select to filter by the stage of a project, which can be the following:

    Project Category

    Select to filter by the category of a project. Note that all categories are selected by default.

    Material CodeUse to filter by the CSI Division code specified in the project documents. Click to expand the menu to filter by division and subdivision.
    Project Last UpdatedUse the date menu to select the range for the most recent update to the project listing. All date ranges are selected by default.
    Project Bidding Date RangeUse  the date menu to select by upcoming bid date. All date ranges are selected by default.
    Project ValueEnter either a minimum or maximum dollar value, or both.
    Search Name

    When present, select a search from the list to filter the list by the parameters of the selected search.

    Understanding the project column values

    The following table describes the values for the columns in the list.  

    Note: To set which columns show in the list, see Selecting and ordering columns.

    Address Line 1The address for the project.
    Address Line 2
    Bid DateThe date the project goes to bid.
    Bid Date TimeThe time the project goes to bid.
    CategoriesThe categories for the project.
    CityThe city where the project is located.
    Commence DateThe date that work on the project is expected to begin.
    Completion DateThe date that the project is expected to be finished.
    Contract TypeThe type of contract, which is one of the following: General contractor, construction management, project management, design/build, and trade contract.
    CountyThe county or province where the project is located.
    CountryThe country for the project, either United States or Canada.
    Created by IDThe Salesforce user that imported the project into Salesforce. This can be different than that Owner value.
    Created DateThe date the project was imported into Salesforce.
    Estimated Confirmed

    Indicates if the project estimate is confirmed by the CMD Research Department.

    Values are:

    • Confirmed value - The estimate is confirmed by the CMD Research Department.
    • Staff estimate - The value for the project is an estimate provided by the CMD Research Department.
    Estimated ValueThe value for the project as estimated by the CMD Research Department.
    Floor AreaThe total floor area for the project.
    Floor Above GroundThe number of floors for the project above ground or grade.
    Floor Below GroundThe number of floors for the project below ground or grade.
    Insight Project URLThe link to the project listing in Insight.
    Last Activity DateThe date of the most recent significant update to the project.
    Last Modified ByThe person that made the most recent update to the project record.
    Last UpdatedThe date of the most recent significant update to the project.
    Last ReferencedThe most recent date that the project was either viewed or assigned a lead creation by the system administrator.
    Last ViewedThe date the project was last viewed by the user assigned the project.
    OwnerThe Salesforce user assigned the project.
    OwnershipHow the project is owned, which can be city, state, county, private, or federal. 
    Parent CategoryThe category for the parent project, as described in Parent Project ID below.
    Parent ProjectWhen present, indicates that the project has multiple bid dates and contracts, and that there is another version of the project.
    Parent Project IDThe Insight ID for the parent project.
    Parking SpacesThe number of parking spaces for the project.
    Plan Specification DepositIndicates that a deposit for project documents is required.
    Plan Specification FromThe company holding the project specifications documents, including the URL link to project documents, when present.
    Plan Specification URLThe URL for the project documents in Insight.
    Pre-bid ConferenceLists the date that the pre-bid conference is scheduled.
    Primary Project ContactThe primary contact person for the project.
    Primary Project Contact PhoneThe phone for the primary contact for the project.
    Project IDThe Insight ID for the project.
    Project NameThe Insight name of the project.
    Prospective ProjectsIndicates that the project is not fully verified by the CMD Research Department.
    Record DateThe date the project is entered into Insight. Also known as List Date.
    Site AreaThe total site area of the project.
    SMS Indicator

    Projects listed as service, maintenance and supply (SMS) are projects that include bids for construction materials or project materials (such as electronic equipment, furniture, and wiring). Also included is work for services or trades that are task specific, such as tree pruning, on-call, renewable, or as needed (such as snow removal). SMS bid opportunities typically call for ongoing services over time, rather than a single trade project (such as re-roofing).  These services or supplies are construction related, typically performed by contractors who are also interested in construction project opportunities.

    Values are:

    • TRUE - The project is SMS.
    • FALSE - The project is not SMS.
    StageThe current stage of the project.
    Stage Comment 1Any comments about the current stage of the project, such as Working Drawings Completed.
    Stage Comment 2
    State/ProvinceThe state or province where the project is located.
    StructuresThe total number of structures for the project.
    UnitsThe total number of individual units, or structures, for the project.
    Work TypeThe work type for the project, which can be Addition, Addition/Alteration, Alteration and New.
    Zip

    The zip or postal code for the project

    Understanding the project Related tab

    The Related tab on the project details page contains additional information about the project:

    Project Participants - ContactThe names and contact information of non-binding companies and associated contacts participating on the project.
    Project Participants - Company
    Additional Details / NotesThe Notes section contains information relevant to the project added by the ConstructConnect Research Department. Notes can include project information such as scope, details, and subcontractor roles.
    Update SummariesThe dates and summaries of all updates for the project.
    Prospective Bidders

    The Prospective Bidders section contains the information about the companies bidding on the project.

    Plan RoomsFor Canada, a link to the Plan Rooms where project documents are available.
    Material Demand by RSMeans

    The Material Demand section lists materials and associated costs that are estimated to be used in the project. This information is derived using RSMeans construction cost estimating data and is listed by MasterFormat Division. Included is bare material cost, labor and equipment cost, total cost, and a description of the materials used. For more information about Material Demand, see Material Demand FAQs.

    Tip: Click View All at the bottom of the list to all of the information for this section.

    The following table describes the fields in the Material Demand section of the project results page.

    Material Demand NameThe Division name of the code, such as Concrete or Thermal and Moisture Protection.
    Material Division CodesThe division code for the material, such as 3 for Concrete.
    MaterialsThe Material name, such as Concrete Forming or Steel Decking.
    Material Cost ValueThe bare material costs, with no other associated costs.
    Labor & Equipment CostsThe costs associated with labor and equipment with no other associated costs.
    Total Material DemandThe sum of Material Cost Value and Labor & Equipment Costs Values.


    Material

    Lists the materials and Construction Specification Institute (CSI) codes used in the project:

    • Material Code: The CSI code for the material.
    • Material Description: The associated description of the Material Code.
    Insight Saved Search Export DetailsThe name and information for the Insight search associated with the project, including the Bridge ID, the Insightsaved search name and the date and time of the search run that imported the project into Salesforce.
    LeadsThe leads created from the project.
    OpportunitiesThe opportunities created from the project.
