Downloading and Installing .Net Framework (Windows 8.1 and earlier)

Before you can download and install any Plugin or Starter Pack, you need to install Microsoft's .net Framework. Most modern Windows computers already have this component installed, however, if you receive an error during installation of a Plugin or Starter Pack, you'll need to install .net to continue.

What is .Net Framework?

.net (pronounced "Dot Net"), is a programming framework created by Microsoft to allow developers to create and manage applications more efficiently. 

Why is the .net Framework required?

PlanSwift Plugins and Starter Packs are built on the .net framework. Overtime Microsoft releases updated version of .Net to fix vulnerabilities, add features and update security protocols. Usually, once installed, you won't have to mess with .net -  updates are included in Windows Updates.

What are the System Requirements?

Planswift Certified Plugins require the latest version of .Net which at the time is .Net 4.5.2.      Please review Microsoft's System Requirements before installing this component. Typically, if you're running a current version of Windows, you'll meet the requirements.

How do install .Net Framework

First, you must be the Administrator of the computer you are installing .Net Framework on.

•     If you have a popup requesting you download .net (image above)  by pressing download. it will download the installer and prompt you     through the installation. 
•     If you downloaded via the links provided in this article. Once downloaded, Double click the Executable and follow the prompts.
