The companies displayed on the company list page are based on your subscription. These companies can be the 

  • results of your default search 
  • results of a company search
  • companies confirmed as participants when you click Show Matching Companies from the top of the project list page

From the company list page you can apply filters, export companies, add companies to your Watch List, edit searches, and view the projects associated with each company:

Viewing matching projects

You can view the projects that are associated with the companies displayed in the list. These are the projects that meet the company search criteria, including participants or bidders, if any. 

To view matching projects, 

  • click Show Matching Projects from the top of the list. 

Result: The window refreshes and the project list page is displayed. For more information, see Working with the project list.

Adding companies to your Watch List

You can add a company you want to follow to your Watch List using the Watch List star feature and the Mark As selection tool. You can assign companies to your Watch List both individually and in groups.

Using the Watch List star 

You can assign and remove Watch List tracking to individual or all companies in the list: 

  • click the star at the top of the list to add all the companies displayed on the page to your Watch List. Click again to remove the companies from the list.  
  • click the star on the individual company row to assign that company to your Watch List. Click again to remove the company from the list. 


Assigning companies to your Watch List using the Actions feature

You can assign companies to your Watch List using the Actions feature at the top menu bar.  

To use this feature,

    • select the companies you want to add to your Watch List. 
    • Click Actions and then select Add to Watch List
    • Note: Click Remove from Watch List to remove selected companies from your Watch List. 

Exporting companies

You can export a list of the companies displayed on the page in either Excel or PDF format. You can export both single companies and the entire list of companies displayed on the page.

To export companies,

From the results, check either
  • the box at the top of the list to select all of the companies or
  • individual companies in the list.

Click Export and then select either
  • Export to Excel
  • Export to PDF

You can choose to export your selections as a formatted Excel spreadsheet or in PDF format, as described in the following table.

If you select...Then the following options are...
Microsoft Excel
  • Company List with current column view.
  • Custom Company Template (requires that you select the template to use. For more information see Work with export templates).
Adobe PDF
  •  Company List with current column view (can contain the names of up to 2500 projects).
  • Company Details (can contain the details of up to 500 projects).



Once you are done, click Export.

Result: Your export runs and is available by

  • clicking Click here to download from the top right of the window or
  • clicking Exports from the sidebar menu to open the Export Documents menu and then click on the document name.

TipThe Exported Documents menu displays all of the documents ready to download.

Marking companies as viewed

A company listing is shaded gray in the search results when the company is marked as Viewed.  

To mark companies as viewed,

Select the companies that you want to mark as viewed.
2Click Action and then click View. .

Result: The selected companies are shaded gray in future search results.

Note: Repeat the above but select Unviewed to remove the viewed status.

Adding and removing search terms

Once your search runs, the terms used in the search are displayed below the search bar. You can add and remove search terms to further refine your results:

Each time you add or remove search terms, the company list refreshes with the companies matching the revised terms.

 

To add terms to your search,

  • enter the additional terms in the bar and then click the spyglass icon.

    Result: The list refreshes with the matching results and the revised terms are displayed below the search bar.

To remove search terms from a search,

  • click the x on the search term group to open the menu and then click the trashcan icon:

Result: The search group is removed and the company list refreshes with the results matching the remaining search terms.

Saving a company search

You can save any of your company searches for future use. You can save a new search, rename a search, and make modifications to any of your existing company searches. For more information, see Working with saved company searches.

Assigning a search

System administrator's can assign searches to other users in the company.

 To assign a search,

Once the search runs, click Assign Search from the top menu bar.

In the Assign Search menu, choose from the following options. 

If you are assigning a search...Then...
to all users in the listclick Assign to All.

Note: If the search has not been previously saved, the Save Search menu is displayed. Complete the menu and click Save.

 Result: All users are assigned to the search and the menu closes.

 Note: To remove all users, click Assign Search and then click Unassign All.

to individual users in the list
  • select the individual users in the list 
  • click Assign and save search.

Note: If the search has not been previously saved, the Save Search menu is displayed. Complete the menu and click Save.

Understanding the column values in the company list

Each column in the list contains information relating to the companies in the list.  All of the information available for the company is displayed on the line for the company.

Notes:

The following table describes the fields in the company results list.

The star indicates that the company is included in your Watch List. Clicking on the star adds or removes a company from your. For more information, see Adding companies to your Watch List in the section above.

Company IDThe CMD- generated code for the company.

Search tags

Planning Project CountThe number of projects and their value in the planning stage in which the company is playing a role.

Bidding Project CountThe number of projects and their value in the bidding stage in which the company is playing a role.

Post Bid Project CountThe number of projects and their value in the post bid stage in which the company is playing a role.

Total Project CountThe total number of projects and their value in all stages in which the company is playing a role.

Working with the Filters menu

The Filters menu on the left side of the page lets you apply filtering options to the projects associated with the companies in the list. Each time you add or remove a filtering option, the list refreshes with the companies matching your selected options. 

Filtering options include bidding information, value, stages and category (as shown in the following example with the Stage category expanded):

Note: You can show or hide the Filters menu using the arrow on the right side of the menu.

To apply filters the list,  

    • click the plus sign next to each option to expand the menu
    • make your selections or enter values.

      Results:

      With each filtering selection,  the project  list refreshes with the results and the total count of projects updates. 

Notes:

Customizing your filtering options

You can customize the Filters menu to include only those filtering options that you most frequently use. Your Filters menu settings remain in force until you change them, including logging in and out.  You can add filters to a saved filter set to include additional filters. For more information, see Adding filters from a search outside of your filter set

To customize your filtering options, 

    • Click More Filters at either the top or bottom of the menu to display all of the filters: 

    • In the menu, select the filters you want, or click All at the top left of the menu to select all of the filters. Note that clicking All again removes all of the filters: 

Note: All options are selected by default. 

    • Click Save and Close when you are done.

Result: The Filters menu changes to reflect your selections.

Adding filters from a search outside of your filter set

You can included filters from outside of your own filter set.

When you run a saved search that includes filters outside of your own set, the results match the saved search and the message Search includes hidden filters is displayed at the top of the Filters menu. You have the option to view the additional filters and decide to add them to your filter set. 

  • To view and add hidden filters, 
    • click the message Search includes hidden filters to display the Add Filters menu. 
    • To add any of the filters to your filter set, click Add Filter below each category name. Repeat this step for each filter category you want to add to your filter list.

Filters menu descriptions and options

The following table describes the Filters menu options that you can use for filtering the companies in the list.

  • Click to clear all of the filters that you currently have in use.
  • Click the plus sign to expand the menu.

Note: This option is only available after you use the Filters menu.

Updated WithinUse either the slider bar or the date menu to select the range for the most recent update to the project listing. All date ranges are selected by default.
Listed WithinUse either the slider bar or the date menu to select the date range of the original project listing. All date ranges are selected by default.
Bidding WithinUse either the slider bar or the date menu to select by upcoming bid date. All date ranges are selected by default.
Project ValueEnter either a minimum or maximum dollar value, or both. Select Show projects without value to see projects both with the specified value and projects without a value.
StageUse to filter by project state and substage, and then click apply selection. All stages are included by default.

Note: To include projects that are not fully verified by the ConstructConnect Research Department, select Show prospective projects.

CategorySelect to filter by category, or intended project end-use, and then click apply selection. All categories are selected by default.

Filter by Status

Use to show, hide and exclude certain project types in your results. Note that this option is not available for company results.

Click...And then select...
IncludeHidden Projects to include hidden projects in your results.

Note: Hidden projects are not included in your project search results by default.

Excludeany of the following to exclude these project types from your search results:
  • CRM Export Projects
  • Projects with Personal Notes
  • Watch List Projects

Note: These project types are included in your results by default.

Show Onlyany of the following to show only these project types in your search results:

Note: Any project types not selected are excluded from your search results.


Search Tag

Use to apply the criteria of tagged searches to the current list of projects displayed on the page. You can apply all the tags shown or select from the list, up to five maximum.

  • Click At least one search tag and then click on the tags that you want to include.
  • Click All search tags to apply all tagged searches shown.
  • Click Apply Selection when you are done:

Note: Click Clear to remove all search tag criteria and reset the menu.

Project LocationSelect the project location and then click apply selection.
Postal Code Radius

Enter the postal code for the project:

  • Enter five (5) digits for the U.S. and six (6) for Canada, and then select the outward radius for the code in miles (5, 10, 25, 50, 150).
# of FloorsUse to set separately set the range of floors above and below grade.
Floor Area

Use to specify the internal floor area of the project:

  • Click Unit Of Measure and select either Square Feet or Square Meters.

Note that the system converts to the requested measurement type during the search, but the results always display the unit of measurement in the format native to the project.

Work TypeSelect the work type and then click apply selection.
Bid TypeSelect the bid type and then click apply selection.
Owner TypeSelect the owner type and then click apply selection.
DocumentsSelect to include any combination of plans, specs, plan addenda or spec addenda.
Document CSI DivisionUse to filter projects by the CSI Division code specified in the project documents. Click to expand the menu to filter by division and subdivision.

Notes:

  • For best use, combine this filter with a Documents CSI keyword search from the search bar tile. Only those projects that contain the specified CSI code are returned.
  • Plans contain no CSI codes but can have your keyword included in the project documents.
Material DemandClick to expand the menu to select the CSI MasterFormat materials, and then click apply selection. For company users, the values that can be selected can be restricted by the company administrators.
Company TypeSelect to filter by the type of the company, and then click apply selection.
Company LocationSelect the location for the project either by country, state or province, or county.
More FiltersOpens the Add Filters menu where you can set your filtering options. See Customizing your filtering options for more information about this feature.
