PlanSwift supports one Scale per Page, however, it can accommodate Plans with different horizontal vs. vertical scales. PlanSwift can also calculate the Scale of a Page using a known length line on the Plan.

Calculating Scale and setting Horizontal Scale

First, click the Scales button to open the Scale pop-up.

Locate a known linear to define the horizontal scale (1). Enter its dimensions in the Scale (Standard) pop up.

Click Ok

Now, draw a reference line that matches the dimensions you entered.

Double-click to finish and you’ll see a little icon next to the Page in the Pages, Bookmarks list that indicate the Page has been scaled horizontally. You’ll also see the calculated scale in the bottom-left corner of PlanSwift.

Calculating a Different Vertical Scale

If your Page has different horizontal vs. vertical scales, continue with these steps:

Repeat the steps above but for the vertical scale.

Again, click the Scale button in the ribbon bar to open the Scale pop up.

Enter in the dimensions from the known vertical linear from the Plan.

Click Ok

Draw the reference line that matches this dimension.

Now you see an icon with both a vertical and horizontal arrow, indicating that the Page has been scaled in both axes.

We also see the calculated Scale(s) in the bottom-left corner of the application.

See Home Tab: Scale Button - Setting, Calculating, and Verifying Scale for details on setting and verifying scale.

See Handling More Than One Scale on the Same Plan if there are regions of your Plan that are drawn at different Scales.
