ConstructConnect has a secure file transfer protocol (SFTP) site to help relay large project files, software drivers, and other project-related information to our customers.
This section covers the following most frequently asked questions for those who have not used an SFTP and/or have previously used our FTP site:
The main difference between FTP and SFTP is the “S.” SFTP is an encrypted or secure file transfer protocol. With FTP, when you send and receive files, but they are not encrypted. You may be using a secure connection, but the transmission and files themselves are not encrypted. SFTP also uses a port number (2220), whereas FTP does not use a port number.
Existing customer cata has already been transferred to the SFTP and will run simultaneously with the FTP server until January 20, 2023. After that time, the FTP will be sunsetted and any file transfers will be done over the SFTP alone.
There are a number of programs you can use to access the SFTP folder as well, such as WINSCP, Cyberduck , and MobaXterm.
The SFTP can also be accessed using the software utility, SFTP Drive. This will enable you to download your files through File Explorer.
ConstructConnect does not charge for the upgrade from FTP to SFTP. However, customers who use a
third-party integration service may be charged by their integrator to update steps in the integration process.
If you currently have a ConstructConnect Insight account, go to ftp://ftp.cmdintegration.com.
Find your current FTP folder and log-in with your original username and password.
