You use PlanSwift-Connect to load project files into PlanSwift from the ConstructConnect platform (Document Viewer). When you try to launch EarthWorks Pro on any Page, you receive an error like the one below:

Discussion

When PS-Connect pulls in plans from ConstructConnect Document Viewer, part of the process is converting the PDF files into TIFF. The TIFFs, however, even though they display correctly in PlanSwift, are not TIFFs that can be used with EarthWorks Pro, they are customized TIFFs created by PS-Connect that are optimized for speed/performance within PlanSwift.

Resolution

There are two ways to get around this:

For a handful of plans

In the PlanSwift Pages, Bookmarks panel,

• Right-click on a Page

• Select Copy

• Right-click again

• Select Paste

PlanSwift creates a copy of the Page and the underlying TIFF file, but this is a standard TIFF, not optimized by PS-Connect. It will work just fine with EarthWorks Pro.

For an entire set

Instead of using the Send to PlanSwift option in Document Viewer, select all the Pages you need to work on in PlanSwift and download them. They’ll download as PDF files.

Then, in PlanSwift, create a new Job and import those PDF files, allow PlanSwift to convert them to TIFF - those TIFFs will also work fine in EarthWorks Pro.
