Bookmark Shortcuts

Autosize
Copy a bookmark cell/iconHold the Shift key and left mouse click on the bookmark you want to copy. Drag the bookmark you want to copy to a new cell.
Move a bookmark cell/iconHold the Control key and left mouse click on the bookmark you want to move. Drag the bookmark to the position you wish.
Add a colorRight mouse click on the bookmark and select “Set Caption Color” (bottom center of screen).

QuickKeys

QuickKey Config.Under the File menu, select QuickKey Config. Quote Software has made fast key codes so you can put 90 elbow to be a key, so that once you hit it, you automatically get a 90 elbow. When you look at working, notice all are right handed, set left hand to set fast key codes. Especially for on-screen, when drag and drop, won’t have to move around that much.

Audit Trail Shortcuts

Press "Home" KeyTakes you to the top of the audit trail.
Press "End" KeyTakes you to the end of the audit trail.
Double ClickOpens the Global window.
Ctrl+CTo copy an item.
Ctrl+STo save.
To select multiple itemsTo select random multiple items, hold down the Ctrl key and mouse click on the items.To select consecutive items, mouse click on the first item in the set, hold down the Shift key, and mouse click on the last item in the set.
To create an assembly “on the fly”Select the items you want in your assembly, click the “New Asm” button, and complete the new assembly screen.
Insert an item in the middle of the audit trail (Ctrl+I)Select the item you want to insert, select the quantity, and then select Ctrl+I.

General Takeoff Tricks

F4 Conflict noteExample of conflicts: discrepancy between a flow diagram and the plan view; pipe size missing on water supply line; missing precon work. Add a conflict note in Takeoff and run Excel to see an extra tab called “Notes.” Print the notes and have a meeting with the owner, “Here are all the discrepancies we found.”
To exit digitizer modeClick the Escape key or the top button on your digitizer pen.
Setting ScaleWhen scale is not defined on the drawing, click the “Set Scale” button and scroll to bottom to “self-calculate.”
Turn on AutoSaveUnder File, select “TakeOff Options”, and then turn AutoSave on.
Skip the “Accept” buttonFor a quicker takeoff, skip the Accept button; however, keep in mind you must enter in the quantity before taking off the next item (even if it is a single item).
