Working with the Insight: Search page

The Insight: Search page lists projects and companies currently active in Insight that match the Intelligent Leads entitlement level for your company. The list can include projects and companies already imported into your Salesforce account. Use the Insight: Search page to import projects and companies into your Salesforce account for further action.
Note: The Insight: Search page may not be part of your Insight Sync account. For more information, contact your sales or support representative.

How to use the Insight: Search page
The Insight: Search page lists the Insight projects and companies matching the entitlement level for your company. Use the Search page to review projects and companies for potential opportunities, leads, accounts and other options.
To use the Insight: Search page,
- use the features on the page to sort, filter, and search the list of projects and companies. You can also view the details pages for both projects and companies in Insight. Use the topics in this section for more information about performing these tasks.
- To view the details of a project or company in Insight Sync, click on the Name value in the column list to open the related details page. From there you can review the project or company and depending on the item, create an opportunity, lead, account or other option. For more information, see the Help topic next to each feature on the related page.
Switching between projects and companies
To switch between viewing projects and companies,
- click to select either Insight Projects or Insight Companies in the upper right corner of the page.
Result: The window refreshes and the selected list is displayed.
Understanding project and company status
The icons next to the listings on the page indicate the import status into your Salesforce account:

Not imported into your Salesforce account. Click on the icon to import the project or company. For more information, see Importing projects and companies. | |
Has been imported into your Salesforce account. Click on the icon to refresh the data in the listing. For more information, see Manually updating projects and companies. |
Selecting and ordering the columns
You can select up to 10 columns of project or company values to be displayed in the window. You can also select the left to right column order along the page.

Selecting and ordering columns on the page
To open the column selection menu,
- click the option in the upper right section of the page.
To select the columns to display,
- in the menu, select values in the Available Fields menu
- click the arrow for Add to move them to the Selected Fields menu.
To order the columns along the page,
- select the value in the Selected Fields menu
- click the arrow for either Up or Down.
Importing projects and companies
You can import any of the projects or companies displayed on the page into your Salesforce account. Imported projects are displayed on the the Insight: My Projects and Insight: Projects pages, and imported companies are displayed on the Insight: Companies page. Note that the projects and companies that you import still appear in the Insight: Search page but are now marked with the Sync icon.
To import individual listings,
- click the Import icon on the line for the project that you want to import:
- click the Import icon on the line for the project that you want to import:
Result: The project or company record is imported and a confirmation message is displayed at the top of the window.
To import a range of listings,
- select the projects or companies in the list that you want to import:
- Click the Import Records icon on the upper right side of the page.
- select the projects or companies in the list that you want to import:
Result: The selected listings are imported and a confirmation message is displayed at the top of the window.
Manually updating projects and companies
The projects and companies on the page are updated each night with any significant updates to the project listing. You can also update your imported projects and companies at any time using the sync feature. This lets you capture any new information for your imported projects without having to wait for the nightly update.
To manually update a project or company
- click the Sync icon on the line for the project or company:
Result: The listing is updated with any available new information.
Using the search feature
The search feature at the top of the page lets you locate words that are used in the either the project or company listings on the page.
Note: You can only perform a simple search. Advanced and Boolean searching is not currently supported.
To search listings,
- enter the search terms in the search bar at the top of the page and then click the spy glass icon.
Result: The menu refreshes with the listings that match your search terms.
Note: Click the Insight: Search tab at the top of the window to reset the page.
Using the filters menu
The Filters menu on the left side of the page let you filter your results with a range of options. Each time you apply a filtering option the list refreshes with the revised results.
To use the Filters menu,
- select the filtering option from the list and then click Apply.
Result: The list refreshes with the revised results. Click Clear Filters to reset the menu.
Notes:
- To see all filters for an option, click the arrow > to expand the option menu.
- You can still apply filtering options even when the column for the selected option is not currently displayed in the window.
The following table describes the options in the Filters menu.

Project Stage | Use to filter by project stage and substage. All stages are included by default.

Understanding project column values
The following table describes the values for the project columns in the list.

Address Line 1 | The address for the project. |

Bid Date | The date the project goes to bid. |
Catagories | The categories for the project. |
City | The city where the project is located. |
Completion Date | The date that work on the project is expected to begin. |
Completion Date | The date that the project is expected to be finished. |
Contract Type | The type of contract, which is one of the following: General contractor, construction management, project management, design/build, and trade contract. |
County | The county or province where the project is located. |
Country | The country for the project, either United States or Canada. |
Estimated Confirmed | Indicates if the project estimate is confirmed by the ConstructConnect Research Department. Values are:

Estimated Value | The value for the project as estimated by the ConstructConnect Research Department. |
Floor Area | The total floor area for the project. |
Floor Area Unit of Measure | The measurement type used for determining the total floor area of the project. |
Floor Above Ground | The number of floors for the project above ground or grade. |
Floor Below Ground | The number of floors for the project below ground or grade. |
Green Building Certification | Indicates the compliance level with the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System®. |
Is Prospective | Indicates that the project is not fully verified by the ConstructConnect Research Department. |
Last Updated | The date of the most recent significant update to the project. |
Latitude | The geophysical location of the project. |
LEED Certification Intent | Indicates the compliance level with the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System®. |
List Date | The date that the project record is created and data entered into Insight. Also know as Record Date. |
Longitude | The geophysical location of the project. |
Ownership | How the project is owned, which can be city, state, county, private, or federal. |
Parent Category | The category for the parent project, as described in Parent Project ID below. |
Parent Project ID | When present, indicates that the project has multiple bid dates and contracts, and that there is another version of the project. |
Parking Spaces | The number of parking spaces for the project. |
Plan Specification Deposit | Indicates that a deposit for project documents is required. |
Plan Specification From | The company holding the project specifications documents, including the URL link to project documents, when present. |
Plan Specification URL | The URL for the project documents in Insight. |
Pre-bid Conference | Lists the date that the pre-bid conference is scheduled. |
Project Details URL | The URL to the project details page in Insight. |
Project ID | The Insight ID for the project. |
Project Name | The name of the project. |
Record Date | The date the project is entered into Insight. Also known as List Date. |
Single Trade Classification | Indicates that the project has only one trade. |
Site Area | The total site area of the project. |
Site Area Unit of Measure | The measurement type used to determine the total site area of the project. |
SMS Indicator | Projects listed as service, maintenance and supply (SMS) are projects that include bids for construction materials or project materials (such as electronic equipment, furniture, and wiring). Also included is work for services or trades that are task specific, such as tree pruning, on-call, renewable, or as needed (such as snow removal). SMS bid opportunities typically call for ongoing services over time, rather than a single trade project (such as re-roofing). These services or supplies are construction related, typically performed by contractors who are also interested in construction project opportunities. Values are:

Stage Comment 1 | Any comments about the current stage of the project, such as Working Drawings Completed. |

State/Province | The state or province for the project. |
Structures | The total number of structures for the project. |
Units | The total number of individual units, or structures, for the project. |
Work Type | The work type for the project, which can be Addition, Addition/Alteration, Alteration and New. |
Zip | The zip or postal code for the project. |

Longitude | The geophysical location of the company. |
Name | The name of the company. |
Phone | The main phone number for the company. |

Role | The role that the company generally plays on projects. |
State/Province | The state or province for the company. |
URL | The URL link for the company public website. |
