Beta Search FAQs
What is Beta Search, and why should I try it?
Beta Search is a sneak preview of our new, modernized search, available in 2025. This new search offers a user-friendly way to find projects or companies that match your needs. Improved keyword search and filtering options make finding relevant results easier than ever.
To learn how to use Beta Search, see Beta Search Page Overview.
How do I access Beta Search?
Click the spyglass icon in the sidebar navigation menu and select Beta Search to access the Beta Search page, where you can explore new features like improved filters and keyword search.
To learn more about accessing the Beta Search page, see Beta Search Page Overview.
How have the search filters been improved?
We’ve redesigned some filters to offer you more control, such as adding a radius option to city searches. Many filters now have organized categories within them, grouping related options to make it easier to find specific selections. This allows you to quickly select multiple related options within a single click.
To learn more about all the search filters, see Beta Search Filter Glossary.
What has changed with Keyword Search in Beta Search?
Keyword Search has several improvements, including simplified Search In options. Choose from Name, Details, and Documents, with Details being the default selection, to find your keywords within specific parts of a project. Keyword searches are now Smart Searches by default, and you can run Exact Searches by using quotation marks around search terms. You can join keywords or phrases together using AND or OR operators, or use wildcards with the * symbol to expand your results.
To learn more about keyword search, see Keyword Search.
Can I still do a Smart Search or an Exact Search?
Yes, you can still perform a Smart Search (which includes variations of your Keyword) or an Exact Search (which only searches for your exact Keyword). When you search for a keyword, Smart Search is now the default. To perform an Exact Search, use quotation marks around your search terms.
To learn more about Smart Search vs. Exact Search, see Keyword Search.
How do I use a wildcard?
A wildcard takes the place of one or more characters in a word so that you can still get results if you need clarification on the spelling or want your results to include multiple variations of a word. Type in the part of the word that you know and then use an asterisk for the part you want to be variable in your search. Note that you must have at least three characters typed before adding a wildcard.
Where are my Saved Searches?
We are continuing to add features to Beta Search, so some features like saving a search, loading a Saved Search, and search tags will be available soon. In the meantime, you can still find these features, along with your existing Saved Searches, through the standard Search experience.
