The sidebar shows all the documents attached to a project and lets you search for specific words within documents and download the ones you need.

Search Bar and Matching Documents

The search bar at the top of the sidebar helps you find any word in a project’s documents. When you type a word into the search bar, it will be highlighted wherever it appears. Click the Matching Only tab to see only the documents with that word.

Document Tree

You can see all the attached documents for a project in the sidebar. Documents are grouped into four categories:

  • Plans: All drawings for the project, like building, mechanical, and electrical drawings.

  • Specifications: Details on the project’s products and materials and the divisions of work involved. Includes info on pre-qualifications, bonding, insurance, and trades (see CSI Codes).

  • Addenda: Changes to a project’s plans or specs after they’ve been released for bidding.

  • Other: Extra documents that don’t fit into the other three categories.

The number of documents in each category is listed next to the category name.

Click a category to open it and see the documents inside. Select a document to view it in the central part of your screen.

Download Documents

You can download all the documents or just the ones you choose.

Download All: Click the Download All button at the top of the sidebar.

Download Selected: Check the box next to the documents you want, then click the Download button. The button will show how many documents you’re downloading (e.g., Download 3).

Note: If you want most documents from a category but not all, check the box for the whole category, then uncheck the specific documents you don’t need.

Download Preferences

Click the down arrow next to the Download button to open your download preferences. Here, you can choose your settings for future downloads, so you don’t have to pick them every time.

File Format

Choose how you want your documents to be downloaded:

  • Multi-page PDF: One PDF with all the selected documents.

  • ZIP: A ZIP file with separate PDFs for each document.

Note: Multi-page PDF is the default select for file format.
