Duct 4.0.7 BETA 2 Release Notes
The 4.0.7 Release included Improvements and Bug fixes. The purpose of this release is to continue the development and provide product replacement for Legacy SheetMetal and Fabshop products.
Improvements and New Features
1. New QS Duct Summary Template with a Detail Tab
The QS Duct Summary template has an updated Bid Recap and G&A tab for you to use.
There is also a new tab added to the template called Detail. The Detail tab has a sort key drop down menu at the top of the sheet allowing for changing how the items are displayed on the tab.
2. Added a process to backup all excel templates when an update is installed
With the above new template we wanted to make sure we backed up the existing template in case users had not copied and renamed the template. This will ensure updates never overwrite the users customized templates. You should find your backed up template in the Quotesoft\Ductserver\Templates\Backup directory. Before moving the backed up template out into the Templates directory please call support to get assistance in updating and renaming the Template.
3. Added the ability to export and import a single Catalog
Within the Catalog navigation tree (left side) you can right click and export a single catalog to be imported on another Quotesoft Duct database. This feature is useful when you have a standalone workstation that needs an updated catalog.
- Open Central Data
- Expand Catalogs
- Right click on the Catalog you wish to export and choose Export Catalog
- You can then transfer the file created to another duct database and use the Import button in the Catalog menu at the top of the Central Data window
4. Added an Item List tab to the Quick Totals Takeoff export
When the Quick Totals export is used in takeoff, the excel sheet created will have a second tab (at the bottom) that includes the Items in the Quick Total selection
5. Added the Rectangular Tap on Round Pipe fitting
The Angle Tap on Round was added to the Rectangular fitting palette for takeoff, added to the Rectangular Item Options, and added to the Rectangular Pressure File list of items. It is recommended you visit your Item Options and Pressure File to validate the setup data before attempting to use the item in Takeoff.
6. Provided the per gauge costing setup for round pressure files
User Guide Article on Per Gauge Costing
Added the legacy feature to allow you to setup per diameter and per gauge pricing for each item within a round pressure file.
7. Added the Extended Summary report to Static Reports
Recreated the Legacy SheetMetal Extended Summary report for the static reports templates
8. Added some protection to Assembly use in Takeoff
Due to limitations with how Assemblies are created and used, we had to limit some of the use of Assemblies.
- Do not allow adding Assemblies into other Assemblies
- Do not allow editing the Assembly name after it is used
- Do not allow removing items or adding items to Assemblies after they are created and used
9. Include the Component weights from the Data File in item total weight calculations
The component weights are now included in item total weight calculations. Components now included are:
- Liner
- Wrap
- Hangers
- Joints
- Angles
- Rods
- Turning Vanes
10. Include sorts, groups, and filters in Audit Trail exports
We were not exporting to excel the filters and groups that were in place on the Audit Trail in takeoff. Now you should only see the items in view in your Takeoff Audit Trail when exported.
11. Removed the ability to hide some palettes in Job File and Takeoff
Within the Job File and Takeoff some of the palettes will no no longer allow you to close them, hide them, or tab them in a group with other palettes. The palettes are:
- Job File
- Folder List
- Job List
- Zone List
- Takeoff
- Image Pane
- Item Details
- Audit Trail
- Components
- Pressure Class
- Toolbar
- Onscreen Options
- Colors palette
